Hooray for the DMCA
So it came to pass.
The norwegian government has proposed our very own version of the DMCA.
This law will make it illegal to breach copy-protection on CDs and so on.
It will however be legal to breach the copy-protection to facilitate playback on a relevant playback-device. Like an mp3-player such as iPod.
However -all software that would let you do such a breach is declared illegal.
And thus there will be no legal way to own an mp3 player in Norway. At least one that has songs you didn't write.
There can be little doubt that this government is corrupt. Wheter it's bending for the record industry or the USA is irrelevant, it's bending over and getting fucked in the ass.
This for your information.
