winter

i suppose february is somehwat late to start the winter, but better late than never I guess... I suspect it'll last a month or so...

not quite the winters of my youth... but leading experts have assured me noone will see one of those for at least a millenia.

i think about sixtoos song "simulated snow" - i searched the interweb for the lyrics but they ain't there and i don't bother to transcribe...

Again the proper authorities is trying to educate me to become a travel guide, they sure are persistent. And again i resist. I have a job, might have mentioned it, where someone will pay me three months pay to make a 3d model of a little village in an interactive web-page. Making the 3d model is a no-brainer, I have already created vast cities in 3d and their little village has only 72 buildings, piece of cake. But I'm struggling with the "interactive web-page" part. God those tools are primitive, I feel like I've been transported to the stoneage and asked to build a car from rocks and branches. Still, the government is likely to be very uncooperative, and I'm really going to need those money. If I succeed I swear I'll never even look at a webpage again. "Webdesign" -hah!!! I had software 15 years ago on my Amiga that was more advanced *DESIGN* software. Fact is, webpages aren't "designed", they're programmed. Nothing I know about design can help me now. So I'm reading manuals and how-tos, thousands of pages of code. There is a very real chance I will give up. I'm no programmer.

This whole web, thing, has hampered life substitute since day one, I mean, sure, we opened our first webpage in 1995, but it was useless. Our current website is useless. We tried to get a programmer, but he insisted on designing it as well and his "design" was, well, I'll be friendly and call it generic. It was useless preset "design", not something a visual artist would produce. And we gave him a complete design. The whole thing, it was a beautiful page in photoshop. But it takes a programmer to make it into a website...

God, frustration.
